Colonial Avenue Planning

Colonial Avenue Community Meetings and Charrette

The Talbot Norfolk Triangle(TNT) Eco-Innovation District, envisions a neighborhood with new high performance buildings and requested the City identify potential opportunities for E+ Green Building Program projects in the TNT. In October 2014 the community and the City identified 36-38 Colonial Avenue as an E+ housing opportunity and began planning for the redevelopment of the site. The final planning recommendations and Request for Proposal (RPF) reflect a series of community meetings held in 2015 and early 2016. During these community meetings and workshops, DND and BPDA staff gathered ideas, guidance, and feedback from the community. The resulting Draft RFPs, including the specific design guidelines, were made available for community review and public comment. The final RFP was issued in June 2016. The community process concluded with a presentation by the responding team in late 2016.
